Hello!

I’m Zuzana,

I am working with my sister Veronika on creating an online cooking blog where we are developing and creating recipes. One of my main tasks is coming up with new recipe ideas.  Veronika is working behind the scenes and she is also uploading the recipes on our website. Cooking is not only something I like to do, but it is also my passion and I am working on our recipes full time. We also like to have our international friends over, who are happy to contribute with their traditional recipes.

I have lived in different countries like US, UK, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland and Sardinia which has opened my mind to trying all kinds of foods. When I moved to Sardinia, I didn’t have much knowledge of Italian cuisine, but I learnt the basics very quickly. There I fell in love with sea food, fish and of course pasta. One of the most important things I learnt in Italy was how to cook pasta properly and how to use fresh and authentic ingredients.

Thanks to my French husband, we have settled down in the South of France where we raise our two lovely girls. France has taught me to try everything at least once - even if that means something is moving on your plate (e.g. Oysters)!
My favourite food in the whole world is traditional French ratatouille, a perfect dish to combine with meat, pasta, BBQ or simply on its own.

Most recently I have been studying at a French professional cooking school and I have obtained my SQP of French traditional cuisine from the School of Thierry Marx. Thierry Marx is famous Michelin star chef.

Learning how to cook from professionals gave me the confidence to create new recipes and to start this food blog with my sister.

I’m Veronika,

I'm a bit younger and bit blonder version of my sister Zuzana. I enjoy cooking and baking, but I also like to stand behind the camera.

Right after finishing High School I moved to Ireland and later to Switzerland, England and France. Only recently I have moved back to my home country, Slovakia.

Most of my working time is taken up by my full-time office work. My evenings are devoted to our blog, writing recipes, editing photos and video chats with my sister. We discuss everything from what recipes we will be cooking and baking to taking photos of recipes, and which plates to use for the photo shoots. I do my best to bake and cook our recipes.

I hope that our photo recipes will make cooking and baking easier and that you will also try to prepare recipes that you were hesitant to prepare before. We will also introduce ingredients that you did not dare to try out and food you heard never heard of. For example, artichokes look like flowers, they taste phenomenal (my humble opinion) and I love to use them in the kitchen very often. Not that many people know that a fresh artichoke is a little difficult to clean and that you have to put it into the lemon water right away so that they won’t turn black. I think that it’s no surprise that I can't imagine my pizza without artichokes on.

I follow the motto: learning by trying - I learn by trying everything, especially cooking and baking. If you have questions about recipes, please do not hesitate to contact us via our social media.
